A manga was created for Fushigiboshi no * Futago Hime after the animation came out. It ran in the popular girl phonebook Ciao Comics, with the art done by the mangaka Anan Mayuki. Mayuki specializes in drawing romantic girl-oriented comics. She made her debut in Ciao Comics' September 2004 issue with her one-shot comic, A Scarf and a Sandcastle. Other comics she created includes Cherish!!, Cupid Tiara, and Complex♥Venus.
The Fushigiboshi no * Futago Hime manga still follows the same plot as the TV series, but there are some elements that have been alternated, such as Milro and Altessa's personalities. The manga ended with the end of Fushigiboshi no * Futago Hime (first season), finishing rather abruptly and leaving more questions. It did not explore many of the main characters, namely Altessa and Sophie; the manga did not go in depth in many of the characters either and did not explain Milro's cold heart (although we can assume that she was probably like that from the beginning).
