wonderplanet

In the Wonder Planet lies seven kingdoms, with the Sunny Kingdom floating overhead. Below the Sunny Kingdom, the other six kingdoms in a clockwise formation are the Water Drop, Seed, Moon, Flame, Windmill, and Jewelry Kingdoms.

The Sunny Kingdom provides light for the rest of the kingdoms, but long ago, the Sun's Blessing, which is what produces the light, stopped working. The legendary Princess Grace of the Sunny Kingdom used her power to prevent it from happening and saved the Wonder Planet, but recently, the same thing is happening again and this time she isn't around, thus the reason why she granted the power of the Prominence to Fine and Rein.

The Jewelry Kingdom and the Windmill Kingdom are close neighbors, and the royal families often have balloon races with each other, but the races have gone so intense that they're not fun anymore, and caused a long enmity between both of the kingdoms, which also explains why Altessa's so irritated when it comes to Sophie. A large mountain filled with jewels called Crystal Mountain is located off of the side in the Jewelry Kingdom, and Coral Town, which is a beachside town, is near the shore in the Windmill Kingdom.

The Flame Kingdom has a volcano nearby where the Bo Dragon lives. Its eruptions are essential towards the Flame Kingdom, and the royal family can see how the Bo Dragon is with the huge crystal in their castle.

Around the Moon Kingdom, there is a star-shaped pool used for fortune telling, since fortune telling is very common in the kingdom. In the pool one can predict their future in it.

The title of the series imply the Wonder Planet to be a planet; however, this may be debatable. Although the Wonder Planet itself is a celestial body, the writers don't go in depth and do not describe whether it does rotate around a sun, moon, stars, or other celestial remnants. The writers probably intended it to be a planet, but the whole concept of the Wonder Planet actually being a planet is not thoroughly explored.

In the Japanese language, there are some words that can stand for others; for example, aoi can also mean "green" besides "blue." In the case of "fushigiboshi", "boshi" can stand for either "star" or "planet." Whether you want to describe it as a star or a planet is entirely up to your personal preference, but since the official English translation is "Wonder Planet", we'll be referring it as a planet.
